“The ocean is calling” Moana is a 2016 American 3D animated musical adventure produced by Walt Disney Animated Studios and released by Walt Disney pictures. The movie is directed by Ron Clements and John Musker. The movie stars Auli’i Cravalho as Moana. She was born on November 22, 2000 in Kohala, Hawaii. This is the first film she worked on. The man that plays the demigod, Maui, is none other than Dwayne Johnson. He was born on May 2, 1972 in Hayward, California.
Plot
The movie follows Moana Waialiki, a sea voyaging enthusiast, who is daughter to Chief Tui. One day, the islanders can’t seem to catch any fish and the crops are dying, so she decides to go on a quest to save her village. On the way, she encounters Maui, a demigod trapped on an isolated island. Her voyage is attacked by an array of monsters but she must work her way out and restore the heart of Te Fiti.
Review
I think this movie is average. Not the best Disney movie but not the worst, (cough) Chicken Little (cough). Anyways, the movie might be a little intense for young kids but I assume that you already shown the movie to them. I give Moana a 4 out of 5.
